In 1992 researchers at the National Cancer Institute published the results of a study into vitamin supplement use and the risk of mouth and throat cancer. The study followed individuals from four separate areas of the United States and found that for smokers, taking any vitamin E supplements cut the risk of of mouth and throat cancer by 50 percent.
