I put fine sand in a little ashtray (smaller is better, that way you can see how much you’re smoking when it fills up). I take 2 or 3 drags and put it out in the sand. If people pay attention, they don’t NEED to smoke the whole cigarette at one sitting.
After doing this, I found I didn’t want any more that a couple hits. Seems your body reacts to cutting back and you don’t want the whole cigarette anymore. I went from a pack a day to a pack a week doing this and it only took days to accomplish this!!
When I wanted more, I just broke off the ash tip and lit it, took a couple drags and put it out again. I can do this 3 or 4 times with 1 cigarette, (100’s). After a couple months, they just didn’t appeal to me anymore. Pay attention to the stop smoking tv ads (they’re discusting), it really helps.
