Do it on a weekday off from work. Don't have that morning coffee and cigarette. Go to the earliest movie you can find. Buy lots of popcorn and see 2 or 3 movies. By the time you leave the movie theatre, you have gone through the worst hours of withdrawal.

I think that one of the best ways to get through the withdrawals is exercise. I joined our local Rec Centre and have been working out at least 3 evenings a week and found that it really helps to relieve the stress/tension that you're feeling from the withdrawals. I've noticed at my exercise classes just how much better my breathing and energy levels have improved over the months since I quit and I can honestly say that I'm feeling great and only wish that I had quit a long time ago!

Orange Therapy This totally worked for me. I needed to find a low calorie, time consuming, stimulating thing to do with my mouth and hands. Oranges take a few minutes to skin. They smell great. They are fantastic for you. They have many slices so you get the oral fixation for a long time. Did I mention they smell great? The only time my orange therapy didn't work was driving. I'm trying to prolong my life here. The best part is that they're easily transportable. You can eat oranges practically anywhere you can smoke. Parks, work, school, the beach, home, almost anywhere. I highly recommend trying this. Especially those of you who don't want to substitute candy or get bored with gum. Try it!

I was hospitalized for one week with a blood clot on my lung, I decided to give up smoking after 27 years of smoking 3 - 4 packs a day. I still considered myself to be at a young age of 40, and My health was important to my family and I. I use Nicotine Gum and lots of Jolly Rancher Hard candies. I contact a very good friend who helps me at weak times. He is a non smoker and very supportive.

This is how I quit after nineteen years of smoking. I used Chantix to help me quit. Chantix is a drug doctor's prescribe to suppress nicotine cravings. To break the habit part...I eat sunflower seeds. Eat the ones in the shell because then it takes you like 2 minutes to pick it open and eat one.
