• ”Pay
Paying every time you smoke. Not only do cigarettes cost a lot of money, you should tell friends, co-workers etc. etc., that if they see you with a cigarette they are entitled to a certain sum of money from you. I tried it and lost some money and realized that I couldn't waste all this money just to smoke, so I decided to stop. Very Successful.

I think that one of the best ways to get through the withdrawals is exercise. I joined our local Rec Centre and have been working out at least 3 evenings a week and found that it really helps to relieve the stress/tension that you're feeling from the withdrawals. I've noticed at my exercise classes just how much better my breathing and energy levels have improved over the months since I quit and I can honestly say that I'm feeling great and only wish that I had quit a long time ago!

I have smoked for 40 years and in my mind I never thought I could quit. my quit date was not set. in fact I bought a carton of cigarettes the night before. and I smoked as always while on my computer. I got up the next morning and as i was about to grab a cigarette I said to myself to wait until I have coffee. after my coffee I decided to wait until after I eat. I did this all day and to my surprise I got though the day without a cigarette. I did this the next day and the day after and I noticed how much easier it is to breathe and smell. It’s been 3 months since I started this and I have enjoyed all the nice things of not smoking. And so far I have saved over $500.

  • ”Meditation:
I smoked for 4 years and am finally quitting for good. I found the best thing to have is self-control, and meditation is a great place to start. Find a quiet place and stretch your whole body, head to toe. Put on soft music, headphones would work best to keep outside traffic noise and other distractions out. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and begin to drift into calmness. I know its hard at first to completely clear your mind of all thoughts, but keep practicing, not forcing thoughts out (that tends to make them force back in) but gently push thoughts away. You'll be able to clear your mind completely eventually. Do this for a few minutes a day and your focus and patience will grow, making it so much easier to face stressful situations in times of cravings. Good luck... You know that you can do it!
